Fishing News in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania's Fish for Free Days will coincide with holidays this year. Anglers are not required to have fishing licenses on May 30 (Memorial Day) and September 5 (Labor Day), but all other regulations will apply.

The Elk Valley Sportsman's Association will be holding an annual fishing derby for children 12 and under on April 30 at the Girard Boro Park pond that will run for two hours. Fishing gear and tips will be provided for those that need it, and refreshments for children will be provided. The pond will be stocked with trout provided by 3-C-U and Billy Hetz. Bait will be provided by Elk Creek Sports Store Inc, and prizes will be donated by the Elk Valley Sportsmen's Club. The Fish and Boat Commission has also introduced a toll-free hotline that the public can use to report suspected pollution incidents or fish kills.
