Fishing Holidays in Ireland

Annamoe Trout Fisheries on the banks of the Avonmore River in Co Wicklow, Ireland is an excellent fishing destination for angling holidays.

The trout at Annamoe are free-rising, hard-fighting and in mint condition. The owner of the fisheries has been breeding rainbow trout and pioneered their sale throughout the country in the 1980s and 1990s, and he is one of the most knowledgeable people on the species in Ireland. The three-acre rainbow lake is open all-year, but a stretch of Avonmore River that runs parallel to the lake has also been opened to fishing recently. This is a beautiful stretch of river that is ideal for the those wild brown trout enthusiasts. Chest waders and wading sticks are advised, and fishing is restricted to a close season. There is also a separate children's fishing pond that is open from May to September.
