Fishing Holidays in Cornwall

On a holiday to Cornwall, England, travelers have the chance to try their hand at mackerel fishing in the company of a local skipper at the little harbor at St. Mawes, across the bay from Falmouth.

Packages include a two-hour fishing trip to search for mackerel, or you can also choose to go trolling for bass instead. There are also harbor sightseeing tours, half-day charters and a trip upriver to Smuggler's Cottage in Tolverne for a cream tea that are available here. Another great tourist opportunity is located nearby, where travelers can spend a few hours walking among the remains of Tintagel Castle, a wild and haunting old ruin on the north Cornish coast. The castle commands clifftop views over crashing seas, and gaping stone arches and buttresses that jut out into thin air. The castle may date from the 13th century, but it is still rumored to be the birthplace of the mythical King Arthur.
