Fishing Holidays in Australia

There are fantastic destinations for fishing holidays in and around the Toowoomba region in Australia. The tourism industry here has been hit hard after the recent floods across the state, but the region remains open for business as it was not as severely damaged by the floods as some may believe.

At Nindigully, for example, you will find Queensland's oldest hotel, the Nindigully Pub, located in its original condition and position on the banks of the Moonie River, approximately 45 kilometers south of St. George. Its license was issued in 1864 after it had operated as a shearers' accommodation for the Nindigully Station. Nindigully is a great spot to kick back and relax over a long weekend, and there is free fishing, camping and caravanning on the river with hot showers and accommodation available at the hotel. The Nindigully Pub is also well known for its fresh-cooked meals.
